Extraño started with a single shoe. Founded by Jonathan Moye during a period of focused study in footwear, it was the kind of piece that felt too good to leave as a project, so it didn’t. Despite doubt from others, it got made. That decision became a brand.
The name comes from the Spanish word extraño, meaning strange or unfamiliar, and it fits. Time spent living in Spain shaped more than just the aesthetic. It was the attitude: a culture with its own way of doing things, unbothered by outside expectation.
Extraño. Obviously.
